Dr. Prafulla Agnihotri holds a Master’s Degree in Management Studies (M.M.S.) from the University of Mumbai and Ph.D. in International Marketing Strategy area from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He has over thirty years experience in the industry - in sales, marketing and training as well as academics. Before joining VPSM, he was a Professor of Marketing at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta and during 2011 - 2017, he was on deputation to IIM Trichy as it’s (founder) Director.

He has co-authored a book titled Principles of Marketing with Philip Kotler and Gary Armstrong. His teaching and research interests include Marketing Management, Services Marketing, Product Management, International Marketing, Sales and Distribution Management and Marketing Strategy.

As a professional corporate trainer, he has been conducting corporate training programmes for over twenty-five years and has conducted several programmes in sales, marketing, strategy, and customer care and CRM areas. Using his knowledge of applied behavioural sciences, which he has gained in ISABS, he has conducted several programmes in Communication Skills where the emphasis is more on ‘empathic communication’ to understand others with an open mind. Some of his clients include Tata Motors, TMTC, Thermax, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Eureka Forbes Ltd,  Dena Bank, Chetan Foundries Ltd, etc. to name a few.

He also consults in the areas of Strategic Marketing, Customer Orientation and Efficiency of Customer Care/ Relations, Marketing Research, Marketing Productivity and Strategic Brand Audit.

He was also a visiting faculty with Euromed, Marseille Provence (an EQUIS Certified B-school), and CERAM, Sophia Antipolis, France.

Research Interests – International Marketing Strategy, Brand Audit, Customer Satisfaction Audit.

His research has been presented and published in a number of reputed international conferences and journals and currently there are several manuscripts under review and/or preparation with ABDC A*/A as target journals. He has also served as a reviewer for PhD thesis for IIM Kozhikode, IIT Delhi, NMIMS, among others.

Dr. Prafulla Y. Agnihotri has taught courses on  International Marketing (MBA and doctoral levels), Marketing Management, Services Marketing, Marketing Strategy and Product Management.
