The 38 years old reputed deemed to be university – DY Patil University has launched its MBA Program today in its Nerul Campus. The new business school is named as Vijay Patil School of Management (VPSM). VPSM boasts of a State-of-the-art campus in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. It has Harvard style technology driven classrooms, Learning Resource Centre, Discussions rooms, Conference rooms, Faculty offices, and a centrally air-conditioned and wi-fi enabled campus with multi cuisine cafeterias. There is a wide selection of recreational facilities on campus where students can practise, play & participate when it works best for them. VPSM strongly believes that co-curricular activities like sports, dramatics, music, dance, debates, etc are as essential as the academic activities as they give students an opportunity to work with a team in a fun & relaxed environment and develop the leadership skills, team-orientation, communication and coordination skills among the participating students.
Dr. Sanja Samirana Patnaik, Chairman of the MBA Program welcomed the dignitaries and briefed about the MBA Program and the vision of the school. He also welcomed the students and congratulated them for choosing the right b-school. He further said that the school aims to be in the top 10 business schools in the country in next 10 years.
Mr. Vinay M. Tonase, MD and CEO, SBI Funds Management Pvt Ltd was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural function and delivered the inaugural address.
Speaking at the time of the inauguration, the Chancellor Dr. Vijay D. This thought metamorphosed into action with a collaboration with the prestigious Harvard Business School Online Program that gives a unique opportunity to students of VPSM to learn online from the faculty at Harvard. In addition to this, courses at VPSM are designed to evoke the spirit of lifelong learning among students.”
The Dean of VPSM, Dr. Prafulla Agnihotri, Former Professor of IIM Calcutta & Founding Director of IIM Tiruchirappalli, and an eminent academician said, “We aim at inculcating the ‘spirit of inquiry, independent thinking, and data-based decision-making. VPSM offers a full time MBA program, (Masters in Business Administration) BBA, (Bachelors in Business Administration) and BSc (Hons) in Economics. All these programs with their multi-disciplinary elective courses aim to bring about all round holistic development of the students to make them worthy leaders and visionaries and entrepreneurs on the national and world stage in the future.
The VPSM MBA program is of two years consisting of six trimesters. It is designed based on the time tested model that is followed by the IIMs and the best of the schools in the world. The BBA program is for three years with six semesters and they give greater insights into the concepts and ideas that are taught in the foundational courses {BBA} and advanced courses {MBA}.
The programs offered at VPSM are all duly recognised by the statutory regulatory bodies like the AICTE (All India Council Technical Education) and UGC (University Grants Commission)
