OVERVIEW
Dr. Merin is an Assistant Professor at Vijay Patil School of Management. Prior to joining VPSM, she has taught at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS Mumbai). She holds PhD in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management from Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and Masters in Human Resource Management from Rajagiri School of Management, Cochin. Her research interests are in areas of creativity and innovation, constraint-driven creativity in organizations, organizational search activities, bricolage, emerging economies, and behavioural theory of firms. A research paper (developed from her doctoral thesis) received the best paper award at one of the seminal conferences in management domain - the British Academy of Management (BAM) Conference 2017, held at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. She was also awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Human Resource Management in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC).
Prior to the doctoral program, she has worked with logistics industry for few years. Her teaching interests include Organizational Behaviour, Group Dynamics, Organizational theory, Organization change and Human resource management. She has handled projects on building HR capability, competency mapping, facilitation of assessment canters and designing individual development plans. Besides, the academic and research interests, she is also very passionate about theatre, literature and dance.
