Vijay Patil School of Management (VPSM)got started operationally in the academic year 2021-’22. First batch of MBA got graduated in Convocation during March ‘24, and first batch of BBA is in the third year of their program.
The sanctioned programs currently for VPSM are MBA&BBA ,300 and 200 , are aspiring batch size & numbers for the programs respectively. Initial year batches we had one section each of MBA and BBA during 21-22 and 22-23.
During the current academic year we have four sections of MBA and three sections of BBA. At VPSM the academic year is divided into trimesters and semesters. MBAs for which trimester system is followed has each academic year divided into three trimesters. Other programs that follow semester system have two semesters per year.
Programs follow credit structure and overall credits of the MBA program are ensured as hundred and two. Other program of BBA has been designed to cover a minimum of forty credits for every academic year.
The facilities we have include multi-floor learning resource centre with hard and soft learning material, multi-cuisine cafeteria, sports facilities, computer lab of hundred and fifty computers of the latest configuration, cultural program facilitating multiple auditoriums, and the transverse garden on the fourth floor with additional sit-out spaces for project discussions facilitation and interactions.
Assessments are crucial aspect of academics. Controller of Examination team takes care of centralized operations of examinations under which now VPSM is included. Assessments have two components, internal and external. Internal assessments follow continual and regular assessments spread across the trimester/semester. End-trimester or End-semester examinations happen in a pen-paper format or as laboratory assessment depending on the nature of the subject. Typical weightage for external assessment is sixty percent, with rest forty percent accruing from internal assessment that includes class tests, projects. The procedure of examination is question papers are sought from internal and external sources, and moderated. Chosen paper is given, and answer scripts are also evaluated both by internal and external. If the variation is within fifteen percent, then the highest mark prevails. Else, it goes for the third evaluation, and the closer of the two of these three assessments are considered for averaging out.
Career guidance and placement Officer provides necessary inputs and facilitates purposive interactions. VPSM as an institution offers over the year number of cultural and sports events for all round development of students. Student driven activity clubs ensure that special interest groups converge and ensure engaging activities. Additionally, special days are celebrated with both internal and external participation. Panel members are drawn so that their presence inspires our students, and they share their practical learnings and experience.
