Welcome to the Finance group at Vijay Patil School of Management where we are resolved to conduct Finance-related teaching and research. The Finance and Accounting Area has faculty members who complement each other, work together as a group and incorporate the latest research while imparting education to the students. The faculty work on a broad range of finance-related research areas and have been publishing in top-tier finance journals.The faculty in finance have wide knowledge in all major areas of finance including:
- Core courses in Finance
- Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis
- Management of Banking and Financial Services, NPAs, Risk Management,
- Private Equity, Business Valuation, Sustainable Finance, Behavioural Finance, Financial Econometrics.
Apart from the core areas, the area is also working on challenging and emerging areas like impact investing, fintech, alternative investments, agricultural finance etc. Research work is being conducted to address issues important for the policy makers, regulators and managers. The area has developed intellectually rigorous and market-relevant coursesfor the MBA, which are delivered with hands-on training on different financial software as well as case studies. The area is offering relevant specializations to help equip students with skills to face corporate challenges and build their careers in their area of interest. The faculty members are continuously working on offering new electives which are relevant in a dynamic scenario to meet industry demand.
The area intends to mentor and develop future academicians through their doctoral programs. We are proud to have in our ranks, faculty members with Ph.D. from the top B schools of India and abroad. The strategy of the group is to provide the necessary resources, institutional support and academic freedom to the faculty members which motivates them to do richer work and be more productive. Everything the area does is for a reason and the reason stems from the intention of providing erudite and industry-ready students, who can hit the ground running and make a mark worldwide.
